Nanoleaf’s New Smart Floor Lamp is Super Thin

Accessory maker Nanoleaf announced its new Smart Multicolor Floor Lamp today at CES 2025. It’s a stylish smart lighting accessory with an ultraslim design for your home.

Nanoleaf makes a bunch of smart lighting solutions, and the newly announced Smart Multicolor Floor Lamp perfectly fits into its lineup. The photos provided by Nanoleaf show off a skinny lamp that disappears into the background. You won’t even notice it’s there until you turn it on. The company claims the lamp is capable of rendering over 16 million colors, and if you’ve used Nanoleaf products before, you know they boast accurate color reproduction. Naturally, you can create custom color-changeable lighting patterns using the Nanoleaf app.

The lamp is also compatible with the Matter smart home protocol, so you can integrate the lamp into your existing smart home setup on iOS or Android and add it to your custom scenes and automations. The Matter protocol is not without drawbacks, but it does enable different smart home appliances to work better together. At this point, it’s a good idea to skip smart home devices that don’t offer Matter compatibility.

You can also manage the lamp in the Nanoleaf mobile app, which provides features not found in Apple’s and Google’s Home apps. For example, the Nanoelaf app lets you create smooth lighting gradients with one-touch presets, as well as custom schedules with more customization options than Google Home and Apple Home allow.

The lamp can also react to your music. As a cherry on top, Nanoleaf says the Smart Multicolor Floor Lamp can be paired with its newest motion and daylighting sensing light switch, called Sense+ Switch, to automatically turn on and off as people enter and exit the room.

Nanoleaf also revealed a premium subscription ($2/month or $20/year with a free one-month trial) that brings new Orchestrator and Scenescapes features. The former creates dynamic color palettes and animates the lights based on the music playing, while the latter brings soothing scenes like Beach or Fireplace for relaxation and focus.

Nanoleaf offers a wide range of smart lighting solutions, and HTG has reviewed several of them. For example, its Essentials Matter Outdoor String Lights impressed us with their dynamic colors and Wi-Fi compatibility. Nanoleaf tends to have slightly higher prices than the competition, but its products are reliable and integrate well with smart platforms.

Nanoleaf says Smart Multicolor Floor Lamp will be available sometime in the first quarter of 2025. The company will reveal pricing, release date, and ordering details at a later date.
