JBL Endurance Race 2 Bring Better Fit and ANC

JBL has unveiled Endurance Race 2, a successor to its Endurance Race waterproof sport earbuds, with grabby bits to stay in your ears better when moving around a lot.

If you need a pair of true wireless earphones to hit the gym, you’ll want them to fit your ear perfectly. Apple-owned Beats has similar sporty earbuds called Powerbeats, which integrate ear hooks to stay in place. JBL says the new Endurance Race 2 are “equipped with TwistLock technology for maximum security” and to fit your ears better than the previous model.

The earbuds offer 48 hours of music playback with active noise cancellaton turned on, or 36 hours without. A quick 10-minute charge gives you four hours of playtime. Aimed at sports and wellness enthusiasts, Endurance Race 2 offer other upgrades.

For example, the dust and waterproof design has been improved from the IP67-certified design of its predecessor to IP68 waterproof and dustproof (the charging case has a waterproof rating of IPX2). The earbuds support the latest Bluetooth 5.3 wireless protocol.

“With multiple wearing styles to choose from and countless new upgrades to enhance the listening and streaming experience, consumers will have the opportunity to find the model that best fits their lifestyle,” said Carsten Olesen, President, Consumer Audio at Harman, which owns JBL. Harman is a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics.

There’s also a new Sports Mode to customize ambient settings for specific workouts. JBL added two new dedicated EQ modes, Funk and Rock, to motivate you to move more. And lastly, abrupt audio transitions should be a thing of the past thanks to JBL’s new Smart Ambient technology. According to JBL, this allows for “effortless transitions from enjoying music to following along in a yoga class without removing the buds.”

Whether you have purchased a new phone or tablet or want new earphones for the gym and active lifestyle, the new Endurance Race 2 will have you covered. Priced at $80, Endurance Race 2 will be available in classic black, classic white, vibrant blue, and purple in March 2025 from JBL’s online store and third-party retailers.

JBL announced other products at CES, including the new Tune 2 and Vibe 2 headphones and accessories, which feature improvements like active noise cancellation, enhanced drivers, and extended battery life.
